Accessibility statement
Last updated: October 22, 2026
Pharmly considers it important to provide an equal, accessible and convenient service to all users, including people with disabilities. We invested in making pharmlyapp.com accessible, in accordance with Israel’s Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 1998, and the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013.
Accessibility level
The accessibility adjustments follow Israeli Standard IS 5568 (web content accessibility guidelines), level AA. The standard is based on the W3C WCAG 2.0 guidelines; in practice we implemented WCAG 2.1 level AA, which extends them.
What we did
- Semantic structure: ordered headings, navigation, main and footer regions, and the language of every page and of passages in another language.
- Full keyboard navigation, a “Skip to content” link at the top of every page, and a clearly visible focus outline on every link, button and control.
- A contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 between text and background.
- Text alternatives for images and screenshots; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Relative text sizes that grow with the browser settings, and a layout that adapts to 200% zoom and to narrow screens.
- Every video that plays by itself (without sound) has a pause and play button. Videos and animations stop when reduced motion is requested, in the device settings or in the accessibility menu.
- Narrated videos have burned-in captions and a full transcript on the page.
- Price tables have column headers. The screenshot gallery works with the keyboard, and the enlarged view closes with the Esc key.
- Buttons and links have clear names, and touch targets are large enough.
Accessibility menu
Every page has an “Accessibility” button in the bottom corner of the screen. It opens a menu with: larger and smaller text, high contrast, grayscale, highlighted links, a readable font, stopping animations and videos, and a strong keyboard focus. Preferences are stored in your browser only. The menu works with the keyboard and screen readers and closes with Esc. It is an extra aid; the adjustments themselves are built into the site’s code.
How the site was checked
- Automated testing with axe-core (by Deque) of every type of page on the site, in Hebrew, English, Russian and Arabic, against the WCAG 2.1 AA rules.
- Keyboard navigation testing, contrast ratio calculation for all text colors, and checking the layout at phone width and with zoom.
- The site was tested in the current Chrome browser and was designed to work in the current Safari, Firefox and Edge as well.
Known limitations
- The narration in the videos is in Hebrew only; every video has a Hebrew transcript on the Hebrew home page.
- Long price tables may need horizontal scrolling on narrow screens.
- Most content pages (prices, products, pharmacies) are in Hebrew only.
- Product images come from Ministry of Health and pharmacy chain databases, and their text alternative is the product name.
- External links, for example to the App Store, lead to sites we do not control.
- Not every combination of screen reader and browser has been tested yet. If you run into a difficulty, we will be glad to hear about it and fix it.
Physical accessibility
Pharmly has no offices, branches or physical service center open to the public. The service is provided on the website and in the app only.
